Corporate Citizenship
As a global company and responsible employer, REHAU is committed to causes outside of its own business activities. Worldwide, we champion ecological, economic, and cultural concerns in many different corporate areas. Our goal is always to assume corporate responsibility over the long term, in a way that will bring lasting value.

Promoting science is an important component of our corporate commitment. Science means progress. As a leading system manufacturer and innovation leader in polymer-based solutions in the fields of building solutions, automotive, and industry, our company has developed the REHAU Award for Business and the REHAU Award for Technology. Offered throughout Europe for the past few years, both awards are geared towards university graduates who deal with specific business aspects of international companies, such as marketing, computer science, or manufacturing process, in their research work. The following awards were presented in 2005: the REHAU Award for Technology in Rehau, Germany; the REHAU Award for Business in Muri/Bern, Switzerland; and the REHAU Award for Business in Sibiu, Romania.
REHAU sponsors professional symposia and panels of experts worldwide on the topic of science and technology. In Moscow, for example, we support the "Club of German Architects and Engineers", or the KdAI. Employees from all departments within the company are invited to the REHAU Colloquium. Well-known internal and external scientists lecture at these symposia on forward-looking topics and trends, which are of particular importance to polymer processing. REHAU champions social issues worldwide. From donations to the American Red Cross for the hurricane victims in the fall of 2005 to the flood victims on the Elbe in 2002, we regularly provide donations of funds, food, and clothing, as well as our products. REHAU window profiles have been donated to orphanages in the Russian city of Tver, to a children’s hospital in the Ukrainian city of Kiev, and to Romanian schools within the scope of the auxiliary service Lyceum Corps of Volunteers. REHAU's social support is often not visible to the public, but is offered with the intention of supporting those in need in a meaningful way.
REHAU also gets involved with social activities at our various worldwide locations, such as city festivals, regional sporting events, and cultural events. Among other things, our company is a co-founder of the corporate initiative Hochfranken, a cooperative merging of several firms that contribute to cultural and economic activities in the northern Bavarian region. REHAU supports cultural activities worldwide on a regular basis. For example: we promote the world famous Rachmaninov Trio in Moscow and the well-known art museum in Bern, Switzerland. In the United Kingdom, at our administrative centre Ross-on-Wye, a small town in Herefordshire, REHAU helped make possible a cultural program in cosmopolitan city format. Since the spectacular 1000-year celebration of the city of Erlangen, Germany, in central Franconia, oversized "push pins" provided by REHAU remind visitors of forgotten historical events in the downtown area. REHAU was also a major sponsor of the 600-year celebration in Viechtach, Germany, in the Bavarian Forest. In Hof, we support the Hof International Film Festival as part of the Hochfranken corporate initiative, in order to secure the future of the festivals. The Hof film festival is the second most important film festival in Germany. At our company headquarters in Rehau, Germany, as a meeting point for dialogue, art, and history, REHAU ART attracts thousands of visitors each year with attractive art exhibits and cultural events.
