REHAU fabricator Centaframe has demonstrated the potential of the REHAU Polytec 50 composite curtain walling system in a domestic environment with a stylish installation in the picturesque Welsh town of Llandeilo.
The company has fabricated and installed full height screens in the REHAU Polytec 50 system in a new housing development by developers Davies Richards Homes. The screens are a cost effective and practical alternative to aluminium curtain walling and flood the living spaces in the homes with natural light.
Centaframe is a specialist manufacturer in the REHAU Polytec 50 system, which combines the design and finish of aluminium on the exterior with the warmth and low maintenance benefits of PVC-U on the interior. It has a 50mm sightline and a simple stick system installation method which means it appeals to both specifiers and homeowners. The standard system used at Llandeilo has outstanding thermal characteristics with a frame Uf-Value of up to 1.0.W/m²K and weather performance tested to 1950 Pa.
Sited in a conservation area within natural woodland, the Llandeilo properties have contemporary styling with muted exterior colours. For the installation, the REHAU Polytec 50 profile has been coloured squirrel grey using REHAU’s Acryl II PVC-U colouring system. This applies a permanent RAL colour to the PVC which is scratch and fade resistant. It coordinates the screens with cladding used on the exterior of some of the properties.
Centaframe also supplied French windows and casements fabricated in REHAU’s S706 70mm system for the development. High security locking mechanisms have been fitted to all the windows and to the doors located within some of the screens.
