WINDOW MASTER SCOTLAND BECOMES FIRST FABRICATOR IN REHAU GENEO® REHAU GENEO®
Window Master Scotland has become the first UK fabricator to begin manufacturing super energy efficient windows in REHAU’s advanced new GENEO® profile system capable of achieving Uw values of between 0.73 W/m2K and 1.1 W/m2K without needing Krypton gas filling.

The six chamber GENEO® system is extruded from a new high-tech fibre composite material branded RAU-FIPRO®, developed to meet the demands of the Passive Housing sector in Germany. It is a self reinforced profile design which does not require additional steel, eliminating the thermal bridges through which energy can be lost in conventional PVC-U frames.

It offers a combination of energy efficiency, high levels of sound insulation and high security potential which Window Master Scotland believes will appeal to self builders, low carbon housing developers and social housing providers throughout Scotland.

Jim Brogan, Managing Director of Window Master Scotland, says: “For us, GENEO® is a unique differentiator which will enable us to target all those projects where energy efficiency is the primary consideration for specifiers.

“As the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes come more sharply into focus, these frames offer specifiers a proven solution for meeting both Level 5 and Level 6 specifications from one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of energy efficient building products.

“They are particularly suited to the tough weather conditions frequently experienced in Scotland and can be fabricated in the tilt and turn configuration which is extensively used in this region.”

Double glazed, the GENEO® frames can achieve a market leading Uw value of 1.1 W/m2K and triple glazed and Argon filled, they can achieve 0.73 W/m2K.

REHAU is supporting Window Master in achieving the necessary formal accreditations for the windows in the UK, including a BFRC A rating and Secured by Design. It has already achieved BS7950 accreditation and successful weather testing of the Window Master frames has been carried out on the test rig at REHAU’s Ross on Wye headquarters.

Window Master, based in Glasgow, is part of the Door Master group of companies which has been manufacturing REHAU frames since 1992. It has extensive experience in the commercial and social housing sectors and also fabricates windows and doors in the S706 70mm system.
