HIS311 Pex pipes used for Radisson Blu PE Hotel bathrooms
“REHAU’s HIS 311 multilayer Pex pipes were the logical choice when building the bathrooms for the Radisson Blu Hotel in Port Elizabeth,” states Uwe Pey, REHAU Area Sales Manager – Construction Division. “The bathrooms for the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton had already been successfully quipped with HIS 311 pipes and fittings. The bathrooms for both projects were built by Exquisite Pods (Pty) Ltd,” explains Pey.
“Exquisite Pods (Pty) Ltd built the 158 bathroom pods for the PE hotel rooms in their factory in Johannesburg using REHAU HIS 311 multilayer pex pipes in 16 and 20mm. The pods complete with pipes and dezincification-resistant fittings were then transported to PE. They were lifted into place with a crane and installed. A single fitting for each pod was connected to the hotel’s main water supply,” advises Pey. “The HIS 311 pex pipes are maintenance free, have leak-proof joints and a lifespan of 50 years. There is no possibility of corrosion as opposed to conventional pipes. These superior physical and mechanical properties of PEX pipes make HIS311 ideal for all hot and cold applications as in the Radissons hotels,” Pey concludes.
REHAU manufactures HIS 311 PEX pipes to stringent international and national standards. They are supplied in industry standard sizes with a wide range of fittings and tools.
