IMPROVED INSULATION FOR REHAU DISTRICT HEATING PIPE

IMPROVED INSULATION FOR REHAU DISTRICT HEATING PIPE
REHAU’s RAUTHERMEX district heating pipe now offers even greater insulation performance thanks to an optimisation of the foam blowing process.

The new foam achieves best in class Lambda values of just 0.0255 W/mK yet offers the same level of pipework flexibility and quality as the standard foam used previously.

Rob Ewels, Business Manager for REHAU’s Heating and Plumbing products, said: “The switch is part of our continual improvement process and offers customers better thermal performance, leading to greater energy efficiency.”

RAUTHERMEX PE-Xa pre-insulated pipework is available in either single pipe versions with pipe diameters from 25mm to 160mm or in double pipe versions with diameters from 25mm to 63mm.

It is used extensively in remote energy centre projects and full district heating schemes in both private and social housing projects and in the health and education sectors.

As well as the new insulation foam process, it offers a number of critical advantages over conventional district heating pipework. These include its longitudinal stability which means the pipe does not expand or contract due to temperature fluctuations while in operation so no expansion allowance is necessary and its renowned Everloc jointing system provides leak free connections.

The hydraulic performance also makes it suitable for temperatures up to 95ºC and pressure up to 6 bar.

RAUTHERMEX is available via BSS and Wolseley branches nationwide. Further information is at: www.rehau.co.uk
