REHAU PROFILA DATA SETS NEW STANDARDS

REHAU PROFILA DATA SETS NEW STANDARDS NEW PROFILA Data
REHAU has added a number of new features to its Profila Data PVC cable management system which help maintain its position as one of the market’s most innovative and advanced solutions.

The new features further enhance the style and functionality of the system as well as making it even easier to install and completely compatible with REHAU’s smaller COMPACT data range.

PROFILA data is the deepest trunking in its class, with a depth of 65mm enabling it to conform with ease to the recommendations of the main data cabling manufacturers for the installation of Cat 6 and Cat 6a systems. The high cabling capacity includes a 4060mm2 cross section area which is significantly greater than its nearest competitor and means it is particularly easy to achieve the minimum bend radius at corners.

Using technology developed for the COMPACT data system, REHAU has added truly flexible corners to PROFILA data incorporating a ‘living hinge’ in the corner cable guides alongside variable angle outer covers. These give an adjustable range of +5º and -5º around a right angled corner meaning installers can achieve a professional finish in even the most difficult buildings.

REHAU’s innovative approach has extended into new moulded flat angles and tee pieces which can be configured for the six most common installation patterns using just one type of each component. Conventionally, manufacturers offer accessories produced by joining sections of the same trunking cut at 45º but these can be fiddly to install and detract from the overall look of the finished installation. The REHAU solution is simply to interlock the new fittings to the modular base and cable guide using a clever clip feature and to supply the bases with built-in pins for the precise alignment of adjacent lengths of trunking.

The new PROFILA data has an open design with full cable support enabling fast and easy installation of power and data cabling. It has a built-in rail to make the installation of DIN 35 electrical accessories such as connectors and RCDs significantly safer and faster, and can also be supplied with a steel divider for improved reduction of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).

The system can be used alongside REHAU’s COMPACT data system using a simple adaptor and can also be supplied as a pre-wired unit if required using standard DIN 35 connectors.

Malcolm Taylor, Marketing Manager for REHAU Cable Management Systems, says: “When it was launched in 2004, PROFILA data set the standard for style and innovation in the cable management market. Since then, hundreds of thousands of metres have been installed across the UK – particularly in the education and medical sectors. Four years on, REHAU has used its polymer expertise to raise the standard still further and strengthen its reputation in this sector.”
