Clients, designers, architects and contractors involved in energy efficient new build developments can benefit from innovative new software on the www.rehau.co.uk website which enables them to maximise the energy efficiency of their new properties.
The ‘Building Configurator’ invites visitors to the site to enter details about the property they are planning, and then see how different choices in terms of the windows and doors selected, the heating system chosen or the inclusion of renewable energy technologies could impact on its efficiency.
The CO2 emissions rate, additional investment cost and annual energy savings delivered by any of REHAU’s energy efficient products are displayed on the website, allowing users to make informed decisions about the potential costs and payback of their specifications.
It is even possible to see how to meet certain Levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes with just a couple of mouse clicks.
The REHAU product range includes energy efficient window and door systems, capable of delivering BFRC A, B or C rated windows, underfloor heating installed either in conjunction with a high efficiency boiler or with a ground source heat pump and a ground – air heat exchanger designed to maximise the efficiency of a Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery unit (MVHR).
By selecting different combinations of these products, users can evaluate which would make the greatest impact on the energy efficiency of their property and which would be the most cost effective. To make this even more useful, the software automatically generates a PDF document setting out the options chosen and emails it directly to the email address provided.
If they choose to, users can also ask to be contacted by one of REHAU’s network of installers or ‘Authorised Partners’ who can give further information on the products and systems selected and provide a tailored quote.
